Datura is an ongoing project that explores this imagined surreal world anew through paintings, photographs, and a historical perspective of Datura’s first explorer, R.W. Verdiencorx.

The beginnings of this world started as an escape from my own mind, but that quickly turned to exploration. I fell in love with the creatures that had once plagued my sketchbook, hiding between the pages waiting to be seen, and began to appreciate their otherworldliness. Within this world of grotesque beauty, euphoria, disgust, and surrealist undertones, I scratch at the surface of the place I know to be Datura.
